Advice from Paul

For every leader out there today, let me share some wisdom that Paul was giving to a young church leader, Timothy. He said to him ‘Do not neglect your gift’. I know many of us have been given unique giftings by the Lord so that U can be that Fearless Influencer in the various sectors of society (or what others have referred to as gates of influence) that is your dominion.

This gift may safely be understood to mean the special and essential qualification that fits you and makes U an efficient ambassador for the high calling that has been placed divinely in your life. Paul was saying to Timothy, do not neglect to stir up the gift in U. Stir it up and keep it lively in you and U shall find yourself moving along the pathways, byways and highways of life doing that which you were created to do. To be a fearless influencer.

So I remind too that U should not neglect to put to use those giftings in you.

Levels of Leadership

Making the shift from Position to Permission brings a person’s first real step into leadership. Why do I say that? Because leadership is influence, nothing more, nothing less. Leaders who rely on their positions to move people rarely develop influence with them. If their subordinates do what they are asked, it’s usually because they think they have to—to receive their pay, keep their jobs, prevent being reprimanded, and so on.

In contrast, when a leader learns to function on the Permission level, everything changes.
